Selecting an OJS hosting plan requires more than comparing storage. Consider the number of journals, editorial teams, expected submissions, payment workflows, DOI requirements, migration complexity and support level.
Start with publishing scale
A single new journal may begin with Essential, Launch or Starter. Universities and publishers operating several titles should consider Professional or Institutional so that branding, access and infrastructure are managed consistently.
Plan for workflow requirements
Online submissions, peer review, editorial dashboards, DOI integration and APC payment collection should be identified before setup. Choosing a plan that already includes these functions is usually more efficient than rebuilding later.
